Microsoft Excel for Beginners

DESCRIPTION: Microsoft Excel is a very powerful tool. It’s been used the world over for decades and for good reason. It is the oldest, most well-known and most affordable data processing software available. It works primarily using data organised into tables. From there you can perform calculations on the table thereby extending it further with new information you create and this is just the start. This course has been designed to take you from knowing absolutely nothing about Excel to being able to create beautiful tables and charts.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Pivot Tables are useful for those who deal with data that need to be categorized under several factors. For example, if you want to figure out the total number of lunches, you can just use a simple count function. But if you want to group the distribution of lunches by date, student gender and date you’ll need Pivot Tables. This course is ideal for Data Analysts.

We’ll add a little bit of complexity to this by introducing brackets and finally I’ll show you how to extend formulas using either cell copying or the fill handle.
